MyTOURS FAQ

 

1. Are The Rates Reflected In MyTOURS Agent Commissionable Or Non-Commissionable?

All rates reflected in the system are offered direct by our participating hotels in MyTOURS by both Commissionable and NETT rates. Agents are free to add their own service fee and charge this to the customer separately in advance*. Agents will pre-pay the room rates shown in MyTOURS directly within the cancellation dates stipulated.

 

2. How Do Hotels Send Rates And Inventory To Travel Agents?

Rates and inventory are set in MyTOURS directly by the hotel. All rates and inventory that our Participating agents access through MyTOURS are ready for either instant booking confirmation or upon request.

 

3. How Frequent Can Hotels Update Their Rates and Inventory?

Hotels have the flexibility of updating the rates and inventory they set in MyTOURS anytime. They can do this by accessing MyTOURS's system online (extranet account access) with their assigned log-in details. For rate and inventory update assistance, please contact helpdesk@mytours.com.my  

Agents also need to log-in to MyTOURS to check for updated rates and availability.

 

4. Who Can Join MyTOURS?

As A Supplier:
Hotels, Resorts and other Accommodation providers.

As a Buyer: Certified travel agencies and other professional travel re-sellers (e.g. tour operators) only.
 
 

5. What Are The Benefits Of Joining MyTOURS?
For Hotels

The key benefit is being able to have full control in maximizing room yield. MyTOURS allows hotels to adjust their rates and available inventory offer in MyTOURS anytime to maximize yield accordingly to their occupancy performance.

Since MyTOURS's rates are updated in real-time, hotels waste no time in distributing their rates and inventory that are ready for booking. Interested agent buyers also save time from having to wait for a confirmation and do not have to face disappointment because they were not able to book at their offline contracted rate. All rates and inventory in MyTOURS are open simultaneously to all registered Participating agents for booking on a first-come-first-serve basis.

6. How Can I Join MyTOURS?

Hotel Supplier: Just click here to register online. Our personnel will follow up with you to complete the necessary set-up forms and assign you your access codes. (Link to Hotel online registration form)

 
 

7. What Is The Joining Fee?

It is absolutely free of charge for both hotel suppliers and travel agency buyers. MyTOURS however reserves the right to approve all applications.

 
 
 

8. How Does MyTOURS Ensure That Only Certified Travels Buyers and Re-Sellers Gain Access To The Rates?

Only MyTOURS registered agents are able to gain access to trade rates offered direct by our Participating hotels through individualized logins and passwords. MyTOURS undertakes due diligence to ensure that all approved Participants are certified travel agents or re-sellers.

 
 

9. Must Travel Agents Submit An Application To MyTOURS For Each Individual Hotel That They Wish To Book From?

No. Once you are registered as a MyTOURS Participating agent, you have access to all participating hotels (unless requested otherwise by specific hotel Participants).

 

10. Why the Name MyTOURS?

MyTOURS stands for “Tourism Online Unified Reservation System” which assists the travel industry by facilitating room and also travel package trading between wholesalers, hotel suppliers and travel trade buyers. 

 
 

11. How Is MyTOURS Different From The Other Systems?

MyTOURS is committed to helping travel agents book instantly and directly on behalf of their travel customers and to helping hotels reach thousands of travel agencies worldwide.

In comparison, other systems in the market:

a) Cater to the B2C market;

b) Does not give hotels full control over their rates and inventory by allowing them to make modifications anytime according to their occupancy performance;

c) Does not offer B2B rates and inventory that are direct by hotel, with no mark-up.

d) Does not allow full instant booking capabilities.
 

In terms of functionality and ease-of-use, MyTOURS offers the same level of sophistication as other popular online booking engines.

 

12. Who Issues The Booking Confirmation?

MyTOURS automatically generates the confirmation voucher. The agent then prints a copy for the customer to present it to the hotel during check-in. MyTOURS will send an instant email confirmation with the voucher attached on the hotel's behalf, to the booking agent to document the transaction the moment it is accepted by the system. The instant email confirmation will also be sent to the hotel for their reference. Customers can also receive the instant email confirmation if the agent specifies this in the system.

 

13. How Is Each Transaction Made On MyTOURS Identified?

Each transaction (confirmation or modification) is identified with a unique transaction/invoice number. All transactions will also indicate "MyTOURS" as the source of the booking.

 

14. Can A Customer's Reservation Be Re-sent To Us?

Yes. Just send MyTOURS an email request to helpdesk@mytours.com.my indicating:

- the reservation number,
- the guest's name,
- the check-in date,
- the recipient's email address,
- the hotel name and
- the city and country where the hotel is located.

 
 

15. We Are A Participating Hotel And Need To Update The Content For Our Listing. Who Can We Contact?

Please contact helpdesk@mytours.com.my with regards to creating and maintaining your hotel description in MyTOURS. The hotel description includes: photos, amenity list updates, room type and its descriptions and general text descriptions (e.g. about the hotel).

Content that we do not manage (and are instead customized on your hotel's end) are rate / inventory related and restrictions related requests.
 
 

16. We Have Packages And Other Products / Services To Offer Such As Breakfast And Transfer. Can We Offer Them To MyTOURS Participants?

Yes, the system allows hotels to offer other individual products / services (e.g. breakfast and airport transfer). Hotels can input these details via MyTOURS's online system (extranet account access) under "Rates & Inventory". For assistance on using this function, please contact helpdesk@mytours.com.my.

 

17. What Innovative Advertising And Promotional Ideas Are Available To Hotel Participants?

18. Can My Hotel Blacklist Selected Agents That We Don't Want To Work With?

19. How Do We Manage Agents With "Contracted Rates"?

MyTOURS is able to accommodate this customization by giving the hotels the ability to group agents in tier groups. Just contact helpdesk@mytours.com.my for details.

 
 

20. Can We Offer Different (Special) Rates To Selected Agent Participating?

Yes. Rates offered through MyTOURS apply to all agents participating plus special rates to selected travel agents selected by the hotels.
