Singapore, 19 October 2009: Creative Advances Technology Sdn Bhd (CAT), developer of the Malaysian Tourism Online Unified Reservation System (myTOURS), is one of the 350 top performers from last year invited to participate again at the International Travel Bureau Asia (ITB Asia) at Suntec, Singapore this year.
CAT is participating as a Hosted Buyer and will promote myTOURS as a hotel module that will be accessed by all the members on their Standard Online Tourism Architecture (SOTA) platform. SOTA is a consolidated tourism e-business platform that unites government agencies, various sectors of the travel industry, and consumers. CAT is looking to meet up with hotels chains, resorts, accommodation providers and tourism organizations participating in ITB-Asia to showcase how they can provide their inventories through myTOURS to the large travel agent network on the SOTA platform.
myTOURS is the latest B2B provider of instant confirmation of hotel room and accommodation inventories to travel trade professionals worldwide that will bring the travel industry to the forefront of online business. This hotel module allows the user to control their own rates and room inventory, take reservations and bookings easily and more efficiently, obtain instant confirmation on bookings, enjoy competitive trade rates for a wide variety of accommodation providers worldwide, and to take advantage of special promotions and buyers’ incentives.
myTOURS’ integration on the SOTA platform also enable users to benefit from the SOTA network that distributes the travel inventories uniquely through multiple online channels. The strategic business advantage of myTOURS is that is provides both a B2B trade network as well as connectivity to the vast online consumer market.
The SOTA platform was launched in August this year at the SOTA International Conference, and just two months later the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) signed a two-year agreement with Creative Advances Technology (CAT) to offer new e-commerce opportunities for its 15,000 association members worldwide.
The travel platform is now being used by over 1500 travel companies and organizations – including Virtual Malaysia (www.virtualmalaysia.com) and IMT-GT Tourism (www.imtgttourism.com).
“We are confident of attracting a fast-growing number of participants. In this competitive environment, SOTA comes as the preferred solution for businesses to network and build sales leads, and to connect with a global audience of more than one billion travel customers in a USD200 billion marketplace,” said Rohizam Md Yusoff, CEO of CAT.
CAT was recently named the Winner of the 2009 “Best of Tourism and Hospitality Award” within the tourism category at the MSC Malaysia Asia Pacific ICT Award (APICTA Award) for the best tourism-focused technology development.
