Climate

Sarawak enjoy a tropical climate. On the average, temperature range between 25°C to 32°C. The monsoon season is between November to February though rainfall is healthy between 330cm to 460cm. You can visit any time of the year.

Clothing

Bring along light and comfortable clothing and perhaps a raincoat especially if you enjoy outdoor. If you plan to go hiking, bring along your hiking boots.

Currency

The official currency is Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Money can be easily exchanged at banks and licensed money changer. The RM is currently regulated such that each visitor is allowed to bring in and out of Malaysia a sum of RM1,000.

Drinking Water

In major towns, tap water is safe for drinking. However, bottled water is readily available.

Food

Chinese and Malay food are common local delicacy though in major towns, western is readily available. Fast-food serving burgers and fried chickens are available in most towns. Sample some local delicacies such as satay (meat skewer with peanut sauce), "Kolo Mee" (noodle with BBQ meat) or simply the chicken rice.

Language

Though Malay is the national language, English is widely spoken here.
