Introduction
Named after the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, the circular Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak building or popularly known as KOMTAR, which was built in 1978, is one of the most easily recognisable landmarks in Georgetown. Standing at  65 stories and 232 metres high (761 feet), this prominent building houses various Government departments as well as commercial offices, department stores, supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
