The largest democracy and the seventh largest country in the world, India is only next to China in terms of population. 1.1 billion people live in this country that shares border with China, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. Due to its huge size of 1.28 million square km, India has a wide range of climate and landscape. Most of the country lies in the tropical belt, yet 10% of the land has temperate climate. India also has a wide difference of landscape ranging from the Himalayas that include the third highest mountain in the world, Mount Kanchenjunga, to the flat central plains and the plateaus in the south.

  With capital being New Delhi and business hub in Mumbai, India is renowned for its art, culture and history that dates back 6000 years. India is a highly diverse nation in every way and this diversity is evident even among its people. Here, all the four major racial groups of the world are represented. India also has the a rich animal life and many national parks have been created to protect rare and exotic species such as the tiger, snow leopard, red panda and Asian rhino.
